I've also thought of quilting some or all of them in book form too. And now that I see my collage the idea of quilting them and sewing them together this way seems to me would make a lovely wall hanging.
My brain never stops! I have four more letters to make tonight to complete the set. For now these are all on little 2 and a half by 3 and half inch cards done on light weight art paper and glued to card stock backings to be given away. What fun this is.
Wishing you a happy Friday and a lovely weekend ahead!
these are totally awesome and i love that your brain is running at 500 miles an hour with ideas. go for it! and isn't it wonderful how inspiration arises even more as we are working on something we love?
ReplyDeleteThis is simply gorgeous no matter how you look at it. I can't wait to get my letter.
ReplyDeletethis is so beautiful, Lynn! A quilted wall hanging will look incredible!! Can't wait to see how it looks when you get going on it!
ReplyDeleteLynn these are marvelous and so original. I love them. And all your ideas for continuing the concept in other forms. They are so colorful and decorative. Congrats on all the ideas burbling around in that head of yours. Never a boring moment.
ReplyDeleteThese are really gorgeous, Lynn! Would love to see you do them in fabric!!!
ReplyDeleteWow.. I thought this was a wall hanging when I first looked at it.
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! You just keep on coming up with great ideas. Not sure you said what you used as your medium. must go back to see.
Mary, thanks...yes, I love when the ideas flow...
ReplyDeleteLisa, I think you get more than one letter! ;-)
Cat, I agree, and hope I can get this going.
Suki, not completely original. I got the idea from a little Hebrew Calendar with art like this. Of course I did not copy them exactly, but copied the idea of letters with art in and around them.
Julie, I'll surely post if/when I do them in fabric.
Cris, not sure I said. I used pencil, ink, and Paperchase fine tipped marker pens. And the paper is in a little ATC sized sketchpad called #214 Normandy erasable sketch pad by Borden & Riley.
so dainty and so colourful, your grands will love this in any form.
ReplyDeleteI love them. They are just beautiful. I wish the English alphabet looked so abstract. This is so colorful.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular and spiritual...What beautiful art these elments of the written word make...and such a treasure for the grands...Mmmmm! :)
ReplyDeleteLynn, you just amaze me. Your on a roll all the time. I just love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing quilt that would be! Reminds me of Illuminated letters.
