A Page for Caroline's Book; Being A Part of Secret Sunday On Seth's Altered Page Blog

On Sunday I played with collage, torn papers, and bees wax. I really want to learn encaustics art, but know I need more tools. (a heat gun, griddle, special paints/iron, resin) Today I read two artists instructions in Cloth Papers Scissors and am getting more and more info about this art form. But on Sunday I just had an old pot, a stove and some beeswax to melt so I did. I poured the melted wax over my fabrics and papers and this is what I got. The front of my page for Caroline's book, a part of the Arty Soulsisters Traveling Sketchbooks: using torn card stock, a photo of our local burrowing owl, and torn strips of fabric and two handmade paper and wire beads...
The back of the page where I poured more wax and got a heart shape by chance!

I was so proud to find my art on Seth's blog: The Altered Page on his Sunday's Secrets here. He posts an amazing group of artists ideas for using recycled materials in their art. His art is mindblowingly awesome too. Check out his blog if you don't already know it. You won't be sorry.
