I AM SELF PUBLISHED!

Every once in a while when I'd post a post on my blog I'd see this little ad asking if I'd like to turn my blog into a book. It comes from "SharedBook". Well I decided to see how it worked. So ordered a book that covered by blog from it's first to it's 289th post from August to December of 2007.
290 pages later...including each and every post...
and each and every comment (my option)...
and living color photos
in their soft cover version (laminated covers front and back)
that weighs in at 2.5 pounds of book!!!
showing my quilting experiences from fumbling beginning...to the end of the book
I am so happy I did this. Because my blog is so full of over 1000 posts now, it's expensive to put them into book form all at once. I will limit myself to six months every few months, but I will self publish the entire blog. I will dedicate it to my grand children and they can follow their grandma's later years blogging, quilting, exploring art in many forms and making friends world wide. Some of my earliest followers who continue to follow my blog I see through the comments are Kelly, Suki, Andrea, and Cris; toward the end of that first six months I met Joss (forever young), Judy Wise, Monique (ladybug), Mim, and Annie. Cathy (clevelandgirlie) and Human Being came on board in December. Thank you all for sticking with me from the very beginning. Your words and those of other later followers will continue to go down in prosperity in subsequent books I have published.
What fun!

  3. what fun! I've thought of this and think it's a great idea - I like your way of approaching it as it is so expensive to do it all at once. I think it's great to go back and see the evolution of art and when we met specific people - glad you did this.

  7. Oh Lynn, this is wonderful!! And saving it for your grandchildren is such a great idea. I have all my visual journals, dating back to 1994, but publishing your blog, complete with photos and comments - well, that is simply a fantastic idea! Well done!

  8. I have seen this advertised in blogger. Its a great idea. I like how it turned out. And here Ive been there commenting from the first. I remember you asking if you could join our drawing for the month of October group even if you had no talent for drawing. Which I now laugh at..What CAN'T you do? What ever you tackle you can do and do well. :)

  10. I have wondered about this! now I'm closer to actually doing it. I'm always afraid of all my hard work somehow vaporizing by just one wrong "right click" on my part. It would be nice to have it in actual 3-d.

  14. What a good idea. This is like a fancy diary. It will be fun to look at over and over again. Plus if the internet changes over the years or this is discontinued for any reason you will have your posts.

  18. Wow, so much response to this self publishing today. I should contact the company and see if I can get a commission for sending so much business their way! LOL (just kidding!)
It is fun to have this to hold in my hands, to look back on and I look forward to having more volumnes in my series of blog books over time.
Happy to share this information with so many of you!

  19. I've seen this ad and wondered about it too! Thank you so much for sharing this! I would love to do this for my daughter-in-law. She has a beautiful blog with gorgeous photos of her three kids and their journey as each one was born. It would be a great treasure for her children.

  23. Lynn, the book is amazing!!! it must be wonderful to hold and look at all that you have done in blogland. Wonderful idea.
I was looking at some of your past posts, trying to catch up.
I went to high school in Placerville. EL Dorado High. I love it there, never wanted to leave. but like most small town you had to work in Sacramento and well, it was the 60's. When I moved there it was really small. The road that goes through town was the only road, highway 50 was it. The freeway went in about a year and a half after My family moved into the area. It was a wonderful place to be a teenager, we ruled the town...When I saw the picture of the tower you took, it made me think of all the milkshakes I had and the football games...just everything.
    Hugs, mary
