San Francisco on Sunday!

Yesterday we enjoyed another beautiful day in San Francisco. We went to the Legion of Honor, a beautiful museum, to see a huge array of art from Auguste Rodin's The Thinker and other awesome sculptures, French and Italian Baroque and Rococo, 17th to 18th Century Decorative Arts including masterpieces of French furniture, British Art, 17th Century Dutch and Flemish Paintings, (Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck...18th -20th Century Neoclassical Art through Post-Impressionism: Goya, Corot, Manet, Seurat, Cezanne, Renoir, Degas, Monet, Picasso; AND MORE. Much more than I had room to post photos of it all here so I added them to my FLICKER Slide Show on my side bar and if you have time and desire go there to see many more photos of what we saw yesterday. I hope you can enjoy it this way. Just click on the first photo or the words at the bottom of the stack.
This last tea cup is for Cris who appreciates fine china! We came home tired but happy.
Stopped in at the Nut Tree Plaza for Tomato and Fresh Basil Pizza at Amici's
and ice cream at Fenton's
which we ate in the little outside park
watching children play with over sized checkers and chess pieces,
and riding the little train that has been there since my own
long gone childhood.
A very sweet day! And we got our free to members tickets for December
to see the Impressionist art from Paris:
Van Gogh, Cezanne, Gauguin etc. at
the de Young museum!
Something really special to look forward to seeing. (Robin, thank you for your help in steering us to getting those tickets)

  1. What an amazing day. And what awesome photos. I really loved the outside of the building. And what a wonderful thing to get free tickets to an Impressionist show. December is sooner than we think, I'm sure. Happy Labor Day.
