Thirty Two Years ago...

September 15, 1978, my friend Terra and I went out for the evening for a girls night out on the town in Berkeley, CA. (That's me on the left! I know, I can hardly believe it either). We wound up at the Starry Plough, had a drink, and sat to listen to Irish music. I was sitting alone, as Terra was off talking to someone else I guess, I really don't remember, when I saw this guy across the room, a really CUTE guy, and I smiled at him. It took him a while to build his courage he told me later, but he came over and asked if he could sit down. That was the night we met.
This is the guy, how he looked then, with my daughter probably three years later.
Now you know the rest of the story...yeah, we call him DH now!
Something I am grateful for on Grateful Thursday!
Terra just sent me these photos.
I'm still getting over how young we were (I was 37, younger than both my children now),
how thin I look, how tight the perm. LOL...and thinking that must have been a borrowed necklace from Terra because I don't remember it, but still have earring just like those I am wearing. And I'd say it's about 29 years before I learned about eyebrow waxing. ;-)
He said it was the smile that got him.

  4. I love the "nostalgia" element in your blog. I know I can wander from time to time through the years whenever I visit here. What a Hottie you were then and I am sure remain to be. And your sweet girl - (as we say here in North Carolina....) the spittin' image of her momma! Beautiful memories.

  5. Glad Diane, it was fun getting these photos so many years later.

Mim, I was never all that relaxed "going out"...

Lisa, there are some photos of my daughter and then of me that look like the same person.

Suki, you are right I always have looked about ten years younger than I was/am. I got carded on my 30th birthday! ;-)

Cathie, yes, I love chronicling my past, a diary of sorts for my grand children to enjoy I hope one day. A hottie now? Well in my dreams! ;-)
