This flea market is just outside of San Francisco in Daly City. We've been going here for years!
There is a huge array of all sorts of stuff, lots of collectibles, vintage, and junk.
Unfortunately the prices are higher than I like to spend or do at thrift stores and garage sales.
This well dressed woman was over seeing her table of lovely fabrics and old table cloths
from a far to get a little sun. It was a sunny day but still cold in the morning hours.
Some of the art is permanent on the walls where sellers have their wares.
And some is for sale like this Frieda collage!
The dates on these old letters went way back...
Do you remember playing Cootie?
I do!
Patty, this Cupie Doll is for you...(I left her there, sorry).
I wonder what poems, books, letters were written on this?
And this is for Cris who loves chickens and roosters!
And I did not buy the huge bag of zippers I saw for $10 either
although I sort of regret not doing so.
I did buy one card of PINK vintage buttons for $2
and I will put them on something for the new baby I knit,
perhaps a red sweater?
This Sunday will be fun too in an entirely different way.
Stay tuned!
What are you up to today?
What a fabulous Farmers Market. There is so much to look at. I think Lolo will go crazy over the Freda collage. :) Its so nice to have someone see something and think of you. Like Patty and I being thought of by what you saw that we like. What fun that is. Have a WONDERFUL day today.
ReplyDeleteIn north Florida we have an awesome country flea market in Waldo, Florida. I really miss it so much after having moved down so far south here...I just told my hubby we should plan a weekend to go up there...you can find things at a flea market (a real good one) like no where else!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a ball there, and I am going to remind myself (with this little reminder from you) that we definately need to go!!! Thanks, Lynn!
I haven't been to a flea market for ages! Thanks for the stroll through yours, it looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis Farmers Market is like a flea market. Wonderful. I am impressed with your restraint.
ReplyDeleteLynn, what a feast for the eyes of an artist!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon! So much inspiration!! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see what you're up to next!
ReplyDeleteI love rummage sales, farmer's markets, garage sales and whatever else. It's fun to look through other people's stuff and find treasures. Looks like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous flea market! I love them, but somehow never go - my family is not really into it. I'm the one who goes to thrift stores regularly - it's just so much fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I love the Frida collage and the old typewriter.
