Drawing High Fashion

One might think that I am really into fashion, which is a laugh, as I am anything but.
I just really like the poses of the models in this particular knitting magazine and
am enjoying drawing them.
These first two are drawn in ink (no pencil first, no erasure) and then painted using
Tom Bow pens and a water brush as well as some watercolor paint.

I do like the knitting patterns too.
I didn't get around to painting the last one, a child's knit outfit. But I might. Stay tuned!

  1. It is good that you have magazines with people in them. Most of my magazines have animals. I like your studies. People are difficult to draw. You do a good job.

  2. I thought I commented here but maybe I did to you. I am always amazed at how you do this so well without erasing. Boggels my mind. Love the first girls attitude. Love the outfit on the second one. Look forward to you coloring the last one. Keep this up as we are enjoying it. :))

  3. when I was in art class (years ago!) we had a huge bin of magazines we'd rifle through for inspiration. My favorites were always National Geographic ... but that was because I've always been drawn to animals as subjects (not people). I love how you've captured the serene expression in the top picture. That's really very hard to do. Wonderful job!
