A first attempt to draw/paint someone I know...(not grand kids)...Done from a recent photo she sent. She is my first cousin and this does not really capture her essence; I think I got a little of him, her dear husband. It was done in ink and no erasing and in this case I wish I had had the option to erase and try again. I can just try the whole thing again some other time. But even so all that said I like it. I used some watercolors and luminescent paints after the ink.

You are a brave soul. One of these days I will start with ink instead of pencil. Gives me chills just thinking of that but it must feel like you've done a great accomplishment. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jude, it's just how I like to work. Maybe I'm nuts.
DeleteNice job Lynn. I think portraits are difficult.
ReplyDeleteIt was mostly a challenge because I know the people and feared what THEY would think, but so far they haven't seemed to have seen it (it's on facebook too). LOL
DeleteI thought I had commented here then I remembered I saw it on FB and had commented. :)
ReplyDeleteFun drawing and its pretty good for not being able to erase. you should try it some time with pencil..Just for the fun of it. Keep up the good work.
I like your shading, Lynn. These are certainlyore elusive and difficult than your other sketches, but I think you're 'drawn' to draw people. Practice makes better and best :-)

Well it's people this month. We'll see what's next; or perhaps I will continue. I never know where the muse takes me.
DeleteReally lovely colouring Lynn!
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline, glad you like it.
