I looked and who do I see but THE COUPLE (from Jalisco's, who I spoke about in yesterday's post and who I have drawn there numerous times)...The woman was laughing AT SEEING ME WALK IN because we Saw EACH OTHER at Jalisco's where we have come to recognize each other and saw each other there just yesterday, and here we all were having lunch at another same place again the very next day!
I went up to them and introduced myself. They introduced themselves to me: "I'm Debbie, this is Mike." We kept laughing. Not much else was said. It didn't need to be. I smiled my big smile and they did too...and they went on eating their lunch and I went over to the counter to order mine. Wow!
I couldn't draw them today as they were done and gone before I had time to order and sit down.
So after I got my sandwich I went outside to a sitting area of tables and drew what was around me including my sandwich:
My Artist Journal pages tell the stories.............
I love our small town...I love drawing...I love coming home and painting my drawings....
Life is so good.
Grateful on Grateful Thursday
You really are keeping a great record of your world Lynn. BTW you are 'featured' today on my blog:) Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteAnn I saw and appreciated that shout out you did on your blog today and all the wonderful photos of my small fabric art piece! Thanks so much for that.
DeleteHere you spell out some interesting differences between us, Lynn. We tend not to eat out very often. The guys in our Armed Forces tend not to be seen in uniform, for reasons of safety (sad old world). I was Air Force for 25 years (Left 1983) and we all wore uniform off-base - sign of the times!
ReplyDeleteJohn last year I rarely ate out and bragged about all the money I was saving. This year (actually since Nov 2011) I eat out more frequently in order to draw in my community! It's worth it to me to do so.
DeleteInteresting comparisons you make about our military differences.
i think it is so neat to run into the same people in different places. very homey. my computer is slow today so i am not seeing the pictures but will return when it moves a little faster.
ReplyDeleteSuki I hope you got to see the pictures finally. Yes, it's a lot of fun here in thismall burg ... actually we have a population of around 150, 000 but it feels like a small town it really does.
DeleteI love these watercolors...you could do a show on just these as they are 'real life' and sweet and nostalgic kind of feeling...
ReplyDeleteTeri, I love your idea for a show! Could happen! Thanks!
DeleteThese are wonderful drawings/paintings and love the journaling on the pages too.
ReplyDeleteEvery drawing is better then the last one you did.
Cris, you are too kind!
DeleteSo funny,,,,your new best friends!
ReplyDeleteYou have an awesome eye for color Lynn!
Well, and great taste in the lunch department too!

Deleteand yes, the lunch was yummy too! ;-)
I love these stories ! And how colorfully you tell them in your paintings !
ReplyDeleteHappy Visiting !
;-) Thanks Kim!
DeleteWow, the soldiers really look great with the color. You nailed that army green. And the cool uniformed-with-sunglasses look.
ReplyDeleteminnemie, thanks so much...I had fun playing around mixing green with some brown to get the color just right. Glad you saw that!
DeleteI'm enjoying browsing through your blogs and just love your drawings. Wonderful details to make me smile :-)
