Five Guys and Jazz...Lunch Later

 Four guys listened to jazz, the fifth guy blew numerous horns making beautiful music in our Town Square on Wednesday. I and many others got to sit and enjoy live music on a warm and balmy summer day. This is the second time I have drawn this particular musician.

The next day I painted them using just a few select colors.



Later I enjoyed a nice lunch at the German Bakery on the square. Pure Grain bakes their own breads and I have become enamoured of pumpkin seed rolls.



Again I chose just a few colors to bring this drawing to life.  That turquoise was the color of that plastic glass for my water.

    Great sketches. I can now see the colors. Was wondering where the turquoise was as it didn't show in my limited colors on my monitor this morning. Now I can see it. Well done as usual.

    I think you should have been with me today. I went to an English village where a brass band played on the green and we drank tea and ate scones! Your sketchbook would have been filled to overflowing!

    I always marvel at those who can draw on-the-spot scenes. The jazz drawing and lunch drawings are wonderful. I really like the lunch menu too:)

    I looked up your art entry in Seth's book. The story behind art piece was intriguing. I love how we can "mark" ourselves through our art.

    It´s amazing how much the sketch changes with the addition of colour! Both versions are fabulous, they convey so much live energy.
