Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

A mixture of family and art today!  We went out for a Chinese dinner on Christmas Day and the Matre d' was wearing this hat. My son liked it so much he got on line and ordered himself one! It bounces quite well!

It is such a joy to be with our eldest grandkids, they are 22 & 25!

Everyday in December EDiD) prompt: Bucket List

Prompt: "Thanks" this can and is also addressed to all of you who visit my blog, and to those who also leave comments! I so appreciate that!!

I drew this at my son's house. It's a friend.

And this is a "small world story" picture. I drew this visitor, the dad of my daughter in laws friend. I mentioned that the lines on his neck were interesting. He said it was from surgery. I knew he was from Boston, MA. I asked if per chance he knew H.Y., a neurosurgeon in Boston? (Who is my son-laws step father). Yes, he said, he and his wife play bridge with H.Y. In Martha's Vineyard and in Flordia. Like I said small world.

This is his daughter!

Prompt: "Fruitcake"

New life change for ultimate comfort, club members welcome!

Drew how my grandson surprised his mother on Christmas!

This next pic is #2 so read the next one first and come back to this for the Christmas dinner story!

The beginning of the story:

My daughter in law!

Allie Bel playing with chimes making music.

Leslie resting!

Prompt: "No ...L"

Prompt: "Waiting"

Prompt: Festivus

Prompt: "it's a wrap!"

Henry joins me in wishing you a very Happy and creative New Year!

  4. Lynn - I've followed your blog for quite a while now & you CRACK ME UP!! I still wonder at how you can sketch people SO FAST! I take so long to sketch & people move so quickly. So I just get 1/2 a person done or the head! Keep on doing what U do.
Thanks from Grandma Nancy in central IL

    1. Thanks Nancy! Do I know you from Sketchbook Skool? If not check it out here www.sketchbookskool.com same goes for anyone else reading this. I think the nearly daily drawing practice, and not thinking, just drawing is what gives me the speed. I don't worry about what it will look like. I just go into the zone and let it happen. It's such fun. But getting part of a person or just a head is ok. I've been know to draw the rest from memory, imagination, or adding a different persons body on the first head.

Congrats on documenting your holidays, and freeing yourself from your over the shoulder boulder holder (from a Bette Midler song)! I am afraid if I did that I would stop traffic! Heehee!

I hope your new year continues to delight you and art fills your life!

    2. As always, Lynn, I love your photos and drawings. I've pretty much given up bras as well. I still wear one if I'm going somewhere with my kids (don't want to embarrass them) but on a day to day basis, nope, no bra.

I'm committed to working on my blog this year. I miss having this community in my life, especially since I'm making some life changes....wish we lived close enough that I could take you out to dinner and talk!
