Completed Quilt #1 in series of two

Quilt #1 is completed

Double click on photos to see close ups.

I love what I was able to do free motion sewing on the border (top photo)
with variegated thread, the round curves seemed to balance out
all the rectangles in the quilt. The backing is a good quality fabric and is very soft. (middle photo) and the completed baby (bottom photo)!
Quilting IS FUN!!

  1. Congrats on getting so much quilting done so quickly! I know many professional quilters who have not been as productive as you have been! (they tend to procrastinate when it comes to the finishing part of quilting!) lol

And I can't wait to see the frog feet! :)

  2. I wonder if they procrastinate because there is such a chance of making errors in the final steps of "quilting". This is when the "puckers" appear/are created, and stitches don't all fall in the ditch as planned, etc. The top looks pretty darn good until you start sewing on the thickness of the quilt sandwich. I keep telling myself I am quilting in the "character" of my quilts! And oh boy do they ever have character!
    LOL
Thanks for your compliments, Ladybug, they are very much appreciated.

I have to re-photograph the frog feet and will do same for the costumes soon.

  4. I can't see the photos here either. I will try to fix the problem. Perhaps I am over drawn on my limit to show photos from Picasa. Maybe I need to delete some of my earlier photos. Hang in there.
