I am starting the new year off with a commitment to self to draw and paint as frequently as possible.
It may not be daily; but it will be as often as I can and as the spirit moves me.
So far I've had two days in a row.
This first drawing done on Monday at lunch at Jalisco's.
This lovely Asian woman sat at the table in front of mine as she ate and talked with her male companion. I had time to draw her and these things on the table while eating my own lunch.
In the evening I brought the painting home and painted it using regular and luminescent paints.
On Tuesday I took a nice walk down town winding up at the Pure Grain Bakery where I had a latte and half a sandwich while drawing this gentleman sitting at the next table in front of me. He was so busy on his cell phone and computer that he had no idea that I was staring at his back!
Again I took the drawing home to paint in the evening with the same paints used in the first painting, a round #8 brush and a tiny tipped brush for small spaces. I use a 140 lb watercolor paper tablet and a black Pitt artist pen for drawing. No erasures.
I am also putting my photos on slide shows to the right on the side bar so I can see the progression from what I did last year (Drawings and Paintings 2011) to this year (Drawing and Paintings 2012).
If you miss a post you can always catch up with me on the slide shows!
I also have a little survey on the side bar you might take a quick peek at...If you haven't already!
I am moving in this directon too. I hope to post more often as well. I like your drawings. It will be fun to see your style evolve.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynniskyniiiiiiii:) I love your drawings^/paintings, and wow, your style already has so much evolded and they are really great! Have a great day and best wishes for the new year, for you and all your family, pets included:) love and hugs from Paris!
ReplyDeleteeuh sorry, I meant evolved! I especially like the painting of the back of the man, the chair the computer, and you made it very interesting by coloring certain things, pushing our eyes onto them:) love,
ReplyDeleteAndrea
Both are great drawings. You just keep getting better. I like the new slide shows. Glad you figured it out. I know I have to do something because my SLIDE shows are going away. We only have till March to do something with them. Glad you are going to keep the drawing up regularly & keep a record we can see. It's addictive isnt it? :))

ReplyDeleteI just love your style! I keep thinking I'll get out and give it a go myself - but I guess the spirit isn't moving me just yet. It could be the rain though :)

I know you will be very good at this drawing and watercolor because you are a natural.
I remember back in the big draw. Where we met remember?
ReplyDeleteI think your drawing and watercoloring has progressed beautifully. These are wonderful. Images of people from your town sort of like Andrea's metro people. You are a one woman wonder.
