Addendum: Today I got the most wonderful phone call. A woman answered and told me her name.
She said she'd been a client of mine thirteen years ago when she was 16 yrs old. She said she wanted to catch me up on her life. She gotten a BA degree and was finishing up her Master's degree in Public Health counseling. She's now 29 yrs old.
She wanted to thank me she said. She told me that I was the only counselor who treated her with respect.
I thanked her and praised her successes and told her she had given me
a beautiful gift by calling me and that she had made my day!
Wow! What a gift.
"Forty years ago."
Yesterday I was on the phone talking to a young woman going through a divorce while I was drawing this clock. As I talked to her about her anxiety, about becoming a single parent I was thrown back in time to 1972 when I was experiencing many of the same things she is experiencing now.
It was only after we hung up that I realized how meaningful drawing the clock was.
And how my own life experiences often are so helpful when talking to others about their lives.
The small plaque under the clock is a gold bar on my desk, the "brand name" perhaps?
I like that too, because even though life sometimes throws us difficult curves
we can still come out "Winners Only"!
I used my Faber-Castell PITT artist Pen SX in a Canson Drawing book with 90 LB acid free paper.
