Chop Suey At Taco Jalisco's

On Tuesday last I took drawing pad and lunch money to Taco Jalisco's...Where tattoo man was having lunch with big hat guy...

Me Amiga, Cecilia was taking the order from...

...'The Couple', who got there first...

I ordered my usual (half order of guacamole and one fish taco)...

...with chips!

and while I ate I drew and while I drew 'The couple' the tattooed man and the big hat guy came and sat at the table in front of mine totally obscuring my view of 'The Couple'.

And so, as I had drawn 'The Couple' in the almost center of my page, I went on to add the others piece by piece around them. I think it all sort of balances out in the end. Lunch was good!

I post this for the challengers of Paint Party Friday, which you can follow via the icon on my side bar. Thanks for dropping by today and thanks for your comments, they mean a lot to me!

  6. So much fun how each individual portrait/close-up works so well on its own and then you surprise us by revealing how they're all part of one scene on the same page. I also like the suggestions of colour over the drawn lines with lots of the white bg still showing through.

  39. It's truly amazing, Lynn, how you can draw on site people at ordinary activities. And while you are eating!!! The guacamole sounds super, but I don't know about fish taco. I love fish but not in a taco shell.

    1. The fish tacos are on soft corn tortillas. Not in a hard shell. ;-)

  41. I love the way you brought it all together. I could eat guacamole everyday. Never had a fish taco but I have heard they are good. I will just have to get brave and try one. It looks like you have some really nice places to eat. Happy weekend, Mary

  42. I loved the way you paced your comments to the pictures - it reminded me of an old radio show drama! What fun! You've really come to know the regulars - I wonder what they call you? The "sketch lady" perhaps or maybe they call you "fish taco". Halibut tacos are one of my favorites at a deli near my work. YUM! Your drawings get better and better each time you do one.

  45. Good Grief, you balanced them so perfectly, they are all together in a small space and not squished. How in the world did you do that. . . good eye. I always always enjoy seeing where you go and who you see. Blessings, Janet PPF
