I'm late, I'm late for a very important date ...

It's been a very busy art week. I finished  up with Everyday in April and made a slow start into Everyday in May. I continued my weekly drawing in public hot spots! And I started a new klass in Sketchbook Skool!

I still enjoy urban sketching at local coffee spots full of unsuspecting models!

In everyday in April I drew this memory of movie watching outdoors!

I wasn't quite done with Zentangles for this prompt 'Pink'

I like when my art journal can tell its own story!

Another prompt :Bucket List

And then this week has been stellar at Sketchbook Skool where our instructor,
Vin Ganapathy, led us in portrait drawing? I did a ton of them! Here are a few, I'll add more later when I get back to my computer. I'm loading this on my iPad this morning out on the road so this already late post will need tweaking later! Be sure to come back to see way more Kool art!

This is Vin!

I drew this person from life first. I also took a photo for later reference and drew her portrait.

Prompt: Travel poster showing all the places I have traveled to from age 20 on...

One more portrait before I add the rest later, she look at all familiar to you?

from here I am continuing to upload drawings on my computer I could not do on the iPad earlier.

This woman is from Sktchy, an app on my iphone, where folks upload photos of themselves for us to draw and they in turn can draw photos we upload of ourselves too. She really was wearing purple lipstick!

This is my eleven year old grand daughter from a photo I took of her.

This young woman eating a donut with sprinkles was on Sktchy too.

This is Vin Ganapathy, our teacher last week in Sketchbook Skool, who taught us about drawing portraits from life and from photos. It was a great week and as you can see it inspired  me to draw a  lot of portraits.  I will continue to do so.
You might remember that a couple of summers ago I drew 100 portraits of my SBS Klassmates and filled an art journal with them.

Another woman from Sktchy. I had fun using my Tom Bow markers and playing with skin tones.

I loved drawing this Sktchy artist's dreadlocks!

This woman had a habit of eating her own hair! She is also a Sktchy artist.

Again from Sktchy.

And finally my last to date Sktchy artist portrait. Thanks to all my volunteer models. I so appreciated permission to draw you all.

Wishing you a Creative Week. Do something that is fun for YOU! Each day is an opportunity to create goodness in one form or another!

Enjoy!

And thanks for coming by. Remember that your comments on my art keep ME DRAWING!!!
And I thank you for that!

  5. Such fun seeing what you've been drawing this week. I always enjoy the coffee shop people but I especially like the portraits this week. Vin's two are fabulous. I like what you did with that last portrait. The hair is great. The unknown one 10th from last looks like Jane Fonda.
