My Crazy MIxed up Week

WELCOME to my blog this week. I load photos from my iPhone using a Blogger App because all my photos are now on my phone; it's a slow process and it gives me lots of headaches (error messages, "try again") But here I am and here they are, NOT in the order they were drawn this time, but here nonetheless.

Drawings  #1  #2 and  #3 were all drawn today at Barnes & Noble Café.

The two ladies in the first drawing are regulars. I overheard their conversation while greeting a third woman momentarily, and heard said something to the effect that told me they were all "Writers"! So NOW I know what they have been up to all these months that I have observed them working together there on their computers. I have drawn both of these two many times before. You may even recognize them by now.

These two guys are also a couple I have drawn numerous times before as well. I am sure they now recognize me too. I have no idea if they realize I am drawing them or not.

And these two guys were new to me. I haven't got a clue what they were doing, but it looked like work.
My eye was drawn to all the gardening books behind them, as you can see.
I have become an avid gardener myself since this past summer and our new landscaping.

Meanwhile I am also continuing to draw from the Sktchy App on my iPhone. I like drawing from those photos of people. It's fun when they see my renditions of themselves and tell me they like them.

I did both of these portraits last night sitting in my recliner in front of the TV.

The day before we were in Starbucks in Dixon where I saw these two women chatting away.
Drawers License allows me to put words in their mouths and thoughts in their heads.

And this woman, who had extreme hair was begging to be drawn.
It was truly mind boggling HIGH!

The night before last I drew a few more Sktchy folks.

Earlier in the week I drew this handsome fellow. He really liked it.

And this guy had a distorted photo of himself much like a distorted photo I had of my self so I drew us both as a couple. He said we were  "cute".

Back at Starbucks on a different day these two lovely young ladies were busy at their laptops.

And this woman had a tall orange knit cap that caught my eye.

This fellow was busy blending into the background.

These two women were actually at the same table talking to each other, but sometimes I miss place a person on my page so they get their own separate table.

Another Sktchy person, who I think I got a very good likeness of. I don't often do that, but am pleased that this time I did. I guess it can happen.

Another day another Starbucks in town this time, was busy.

More Sktchy models. I have drawn her twice before. I am mesmerized by her look.

Vin is on Sktchy too and I've drawn him before from different photos. He was one of our teachers in Sketchbook Skool.
Speaking of which, they have a brand new klass for beginner drawers for people who think they can't draw, but would like to learn. Basic stuff, and I'm taking it, as I never really learned basics before. I just draw what I see. But feel I can learn new tricks. It's called Drawing for People who Think they have NO Talent.
Check it out at SketchbookSkool.com and it's only $29 for 26 videos
with Danny Gregory.

This was in another town in another Starbucks.

She liked my portrait of her too.

Last week at Barnes and Noble Café (these photos were meant to be at the top of this post, but due to the error messages, etc. they made it to the bottom) No matter.
It was the day after Thanksgiving. We did NOT go shopping.
Just out for coffee and drawing and then home again.

I loved this woman's tights. They were shiny and bright and did look like a mosaic of fish fins to me.

She was showing off photos on her phone to another woman.

There's the other woman with grey hair and they were joined by a third woman.

These gals were there too, but sitting behind them on the next level up on high stools and table.
The Dinosaur is a friend on the wall behind them.

Ah, this was drawn at a fast food joint we went into because my husband's blood sugar level was down and he needed a food boost before getting to our Thanksgiving Day destination.

Another happy Sktchy person.

Back at the Dixon Starbucks on another day.

And here ...

and here ...

Last, but not least, we were in Winters, CA for lunch at the El Pueblo Meat Market on yet another day. We are busy getting out and about on purpose to get me places and people to draw. It works for me.

Thank YOU for coming by and visiting my blog. Your visits and comments keep me drawing.
Hope to see you all next week again.

Heavy Week, Drawing Saves the Day!

Last night I watched part of the Democratic National Convention. I drew Bill Clinton as he spoke about his wife in personal glowing terms; I cried when Bernie Sanders nominated Hillary Clinton, because I truly think he would have been the better candidate and President. But this is where we are. I was wowed by speeches by Michelle Obama and Cory Booker. I was pushed and pulled by Berners who want to go third party. History shows us that so far anyway, third party candidates do not make it to the top. I wish they could and did, but I fear a vote in their direction is a vote for the Other Side.
And I fear more than anything him getting elected and what our world will look like if that happens.
I will NOT vote for racism and bigotry, misogyny, or hate in any form. So I will vote for Hillary Clinton. Not my first choice, but now my only choice.
I feel good about the possibility that Bernie Sanders will have a good position to make many of his platform ideas come to fruition and that HC will help that along.
I am glad Elizabeth Warren will also be in position to help.
I think all in all we have a very good team.
Do I think the voting issues need addressing and cleaned up? Of course I do!
We have a lot to hope for and a lot of work to do to make things happen.
So I urge you to VOTE. Think and research and get the person most likely to make good things happen into that position.
Now I will put my soap box away and get on with drawing!

These two guys looked enough alike to be brothers, but their twin shoes cinched it. They were spanking new grey sport shoes with glow in the dark shockingly lime green laces!

Since I was on to siblings, I was sure this loner was also an only child. At least on this day he was!

But she I was sure had a sister in Jersey.

I've been spending as much time as possible in my garden. I drew my eggplant which is growing beautiful green leaves with purple veins and purple flowers, which hopefully will turn into eggplants before too long.

This guy looked a little forlorn, at least that is the way I drew him. He grabbed a seat will watching the long line of folks queuing up for their morning java.

And the lines seemed endlessly long ...

This couple had a couple of young kids in tow, however, they were elsewhere on their devices leaving the children to their own devices. The little girl looked particularly winsome and bored.

A gaggle of gals chatted and texted ...

guys and gals and more gals and guys ...

Another day a different pen!

There were a couple of mornings for various reasons we did not go out for coffee and drawing and I did no Ledger portraits for Sktchy this week either. Pardon the brevity of it all.

I hope to been in better spirits next week. There is always garden; and travel in my future!

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your visits, and your comments encourage me to keep drawing!

Have a wonderful Creative Week yourselves!

More Garden and More Drawings With a little Family Sprinkled In Too

Welcome to my Blog, My Art Journal, my LIFE:

The dry creek is finished so I drew it! You thought I wouldn't?

Henry loves walking the boulders and sitting on them too!

Here it is in all its glory! The landscapers outdid themselves! We are over the moon happy and the neighbors are super impressed!
No more grass to mow or use up water in our California drought! All plants are on a drip system underground and will require far less water usage than before! They will get larger and fill in over the black bark. The plants nearest the rocks are creepers and will crawl over the rocks and over the bark as well. The plants among the rocks are all different grasses. Our cat likes eating some of them.

I drew part of the crew and gave them the original and copies as a thank you in parting! I miss them! They are all super guys and workers!

This was at a grocery store Starbucks! The worker brought my oatmeal to my table! That never happens! My husband knew him from a different store, knew he played guitar and is a nursing student. My husband talks more to strangers than I knew about.

This is a shot of the front side yard!  It now also has three medium sized boulders on it's bark area between the plants. Garbage bins are behind the new fence with lattice top, and the new curved cement walkway makes taking them to the curb so much easier and keeps them out of sight!

DH sits under our three 28 year old very tall redwood trees viewing the new gardens in back! They give us shade!

Veggies growing in specially dug bed (trenched) for them by back fence! Other plants will fill in three garden beds surrounded by decomposed granite paths!

It's fun to draw them too!

Another trek to draw and coffee!

And seems drawing in the garden might happen more than naught! This is Tony, part owner of Sunset Landscaping in Dixon, Ca. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Rusted out wheel barrow filled with flowers now and attached to drip system!

Drawing and painting in my own backyard is fun!

And drawing st Starbucks is too of course!

Sktchy app portrait!

          2 Different generations!

      This morning at Starbucks again!

Hey, that's my handsome son and his daughter, our lovely grand daughter!

And here she is with her fiancé! We love him too!

We stopped to chat with these ponies on our way to the coffee house this morning!

My newly planted morning glory vine flowers wish you a creative week!
Thanks for stopping by! It's your comments that keep me drawing! Really!!!!
