Sunday at Home Plus Art of Others via ATCs

Yesterday, Henry and I hung out in the back yard a bit, him to bathe in the sun and me to draw him bathing! It rained last night and that is a good thing.

I'm busy with an ATC group and here are a few of the ATCs of others and one of mine.
This adorable little girl, done by my friend, Susan Pope, is of my grand daughter Allie wearing the sweater I knit for her in December. Such a sweet rendition, I do love it.

Another friend, Laurel Gaylord, made this one called "Dottie". She said it started out to be Allie, but she got waylaid and Dottie appeared instead. Maybe Allie grown up a bit?. So cute nonetheless. I love them both.

And finally, one I sent out of Henry done just in ink. Lots of cross hatching. Henry doesn't usually smile. I wondered how he'd look that way. I think it's a mischievous smile, which would indeed be very Henry!

Also, news from me is that I have started a NEW BLOG called Paper, Paint, Pencils and Pens!
It's a place for artists to gather and draw together to a theme picked by the artists every two weeks.
Come check us out and if you think you'd like to participate just leave your email here or there.
Thanks. (The old new blog had to be disbanded for technical difficulties incase you were wondering)

Have a glorious day and a creative week!

Where's Henry and Drawings from J's and Town Square on Tuesday

It's Animal Wednesday, so where the heck is Henry?
He's not on his quilt or his scratch box; he's not playing with his cat nip pouch...
He's not on his "this box" where he lays sentry and looks outside at the front yard...

Oh.....Here he comes..."Hey, Henry What's up?"                           You want to go in the house?

No? Okay...are you going to your "nest" in the bushes to hang out?

OH, You just want to spray it and mark your territory...I see..............Now where are you headed?

I'm going over to visit Donna and Dave next door...See you later...

They've got some really good grass over here I like to chew on...Now would you please leave me alone?

Okay, okay, if you see D and D tell 'em I said hi....        All right already, and you can tell YOUR friends I said Happy Animal Wednesday...now can a guy have some peace and quiet?

So, leaving Henry to his P and Q I'll share some art I did today first at Jalico's.

The story is written on the journal page!

After I was done eating and paid for my food, I stopped by "The Couple's" Table to say hi, and to tell them that I missed seeing them at the bakery yesterday! Debbie laughed! Mike just looked as me as if to say who are you and what is this all about?

I told them that the guy sitting at the table behind me at J's today was at the bakery yesterday at the table in front of me!

I left them to eat their tostadas in peace.

 ****

I walked downtown, stopping at the bead shop for something I needed there;

then the thrift store where I found a real pretty rayon camp shirt in reds, purples and orange in a print that looks like an ink drawing for $3.50!

From there I walked the next block to the Town Square and sat on a bench a stones throw from this guy and his bike.

He had a lot of stuff piled up on the back of the bike...I wasn't sure if that was all his belongings or if he was just a guy out for a ride taking a rest.

I will have to wait another day to paint these as a TV show I like is coming on in a few minutes.
this being written on Tuesday night before American Idol started.

Enjoy! And thanks for stopping by!

Hello From Henry on Animal Wednesday!

Henry loves a good mug shot!
But then again
he does not always approve of my shooting him with my camera

but he will pose nicely if I beg
but he'll also let me know when he's done for the day and the photo shoot is over!

Wishing you well on Animal Wednesday.

We are sad today too over the loss this past week of our friend "Sunshine" the sweet and clever little bird who belonged to Terri C. the water colorist of beautiful daisies, post mistress of TMC and lots more. Henry and I send warm thoughts and caring hugs Terri's way.

Henry Finds it Difficult to Co Exist; A Hint of New Small Quilt, and An Unbelievable Flower Surprise!

This past weekend turned out to be most stressful for ole Henry V. He was not nearly as pleased as we were to have our grand kids visiting us. He does not seem to warm up to them much. They are gentle kids and have a cat of their own offering no threat of any kind, but it took him two whole days to figure that out. This was a huge step as he huddled up inside the house, near the front door on top of dads rain jacket, dad's shoe and dad's book bag! They are gone now Henry you can come into the room and wish everyone a Happy Animal Wednesday! This is a hint of a small quilt I made on my Monday day-off. I can't post the whole thing until December 31st. But I can tell you these women are both my maternal grandmother. Beautiful?
And this beauty came as a huge surprise on a succulent plant my cousin Judy gave me long time ago. It looks like brown paper, but is soft and strong and been sitting in the dirt under the mother plant (those green spiky things) over a week now. Does anyone know the name of this plant?
She is for Happy Bloom'in Tuesday!
I asked my grand kids what they wanted for Chanukah this year
and without blinking an eye my grand son told me what he wanted
me to make him. So I have to go look up some patterns
and dig out some yarn! Grandma has work to do.
I was so tickled to know they want and expect me to make them their gifts!

Henry Says Hi and Look at What I bought from SukiPoet

Henry comes in to say hellow, as it's been a while;

.JPG">
Cousin Judy gave me the above succulent a while ago and it is now blooming:

My first bearded iris blooming this year. When enlarged I see a camels head/face. Do you?

And do you see how the yellows and purples of the flowers come out in this outstanding piece I purchased from our own Suki Poet: Remember to double click to enlarge the photos to see the details. Suki, this reminds me of an ark of the covenant, that holds the holy Torah in our temple. And the wisps of threads that sweep across it remind me of the tassels on our prayer shawls, tallet.
I am so happy to have this piece of wonderful art of yours called Housekeeper's Shield in my home. It came to me from New Zealand where it was in a museum show.
